Redevelopment of Existing Grocery Store Site

Asbestos Containing Material and Hazardous Material Survey, Geotechnical Evaluation, Civil Engineering, and Landscape Design

Weaver Consultants Group provided a full range of consulting services for the developer performing the revitalization of an existing IGA grocery store site in Herrin, Illinois. WCG conducted an asbestos survey of the existing building and determined the hazardous materials that needed to be abated for demolition. The team then performed evaluation of the existing geotechnical conditions below the surface of the existing parking lot, created multiple site plans for the proposed development, and created a due diligence report that was used to determine if the site was feasible for the proposed development. 

After the developer had determined that the site was feasible, WCG developed Civil Engineering Plans, a Photometric Plan and a Landscape Plan for permit and construction of a new Wendy’s restaurant. From concept to completion, the team was able to consult with the developer of this once abandoned property to take the project through the due diligence process and ensure the site was prepared for construction.
