Leadership Development
Mentorship
We strive to bridge the gap between junior and senior employees by offering the opportunity to participate in our annual Mentorship Program. Our senior team members provide professional guidance, training, and advice to mentees in their areas of expertise, matching the mentee’s career interests. Participants benefit from professional development, career path guidance and support, career-enhancing projects, and the opportunity to expand their professional network.
Internal Networking
Weaver organizes monthly internal networking sessions to encourage intentional connections among employees from different offices and teams. These informal gatherings help build strong relationships across the company and allow staff to develop essential communication and interpersonal skills.
Leadership Workshop
Held biennially, the Leadership Workshop is an opportunity for emerging and seasoned leaders from across the company to come together and learn skills for leading more effectively and facilitating the long-term success and health of the organization.
Sustained Company Growth
Growth at Weaver Consultants Group is not solely defined by an increase in revenue and profit but also by focusing on being the best we can be. This includes providing great customer service, being innovators and trusted advisors, and contributing to the communities in which we do business. Our goal is that everything we do benefits long-term prosperity for both us and our clients.
Continued Education Support
Weaver supports employees’ pursuits for additional education to enhance their job knowledge and skills. We are committed to providing adequate access to resources so all employees can participate in appropriate education and development activities, including advanced degrees, professional registrations, and technical certifications.
Just Cause
We define a Just Cause as our aspirational vision for the future that describes the world we want to live in, and that we commit to helping build.
Our passionate team of engineers, designers, environmental scientists, and other specialists works across diverse technical disciplines to find innovative solutions to complex challenges. We partner with clients who share our passion for living in a sustainable, healthy environment with infrastructure that maximizes quality of life. Weaver employees are talented problem-solvers who make a difference in the world by making positive impacts on the environment and the communities in which they live through their work.
We sum this up with the following expression – Weaver Companies is a Small Giant playing an Infinite Game. In other words, we are an employee owned Company, with no outside investors, that focuses on being great at what we do and building a Company that will be around for generations.
Like What You Do
Take control of your career in an atmosphere that allows you to cultivate a path at your own pace while working on projects that are meaningful to you. We strive to provide our employees with a culture where they know they are valued, feel safe, and look forward to coming to work every day.
Some of Weaver’s most senior leaders began their careers here as interns and have stayed because they have continuously been given opportunities to make a difference through project diversity, career flexibility, and enjoying what they do and who they do it for.
Trusted Advisors
One of the tenets of Weaver’s culture is the concept of becoming a trusted advisor, meaning that we have earned an exemplary level of trust from clients. Trusted advisors are sought out to provide advice, are the first to be called when a problem arises, and specialize in building dedicated, long-lasting relationships.
This can apply not only to the relationship with our clients but also to the goal of the relationship between leaders and their teams. Team members who trust one another become more efficient and successful and are empowered to make meaningful decisions.
Rewarding Environment
Not only will your knowledge and skills directly contribute to industry innovation, but you will also find a strong sense of community, collaboration, and encouragement, helping you achieve your goals as we meet ours. We maintain positive client relationships by hiring and retaining outstanding employees. We emphasize rewarding our employees and creating a positive environment where they can thrive. This is achieved through financial perks, new project opportunities, and an annual company-wide awards program where employees are recognized for their successes.
Supportive Environment
Due to our holistic project approach, cross-collaboration and teamwork are woven into the very fiber of our business. Our teams work together to achieve more than they could accomplish individually, with professionals from various technical disciplines, industry experience, and regional expertise.
Not only do we appreciate internal support, but we also have an extensive network of external relationships whose collaboration we depend on for our success. Over the last 30 years, we have formed positive, strong relationships with our clients, regulators, project teams, contractors, and vendors, with whom we are proud to collaborate every day.
Approachability
We operate with an “open-door policy” where employees of all levels can communicate openly. Fostering a culture of accessible leadership, we aim to empower our early career professionals to facilitate effective communication and feel represented as members of the Weaver team.
Weaver Consultants Group also encourages the development of new initiatives that expand service offerings to existing clients and provide opportunities to enter new industries. When an employee identifies a new growth opportunity, our leadership teams listen openly and provide the necessary support, whether implementing a new service offering or expanding our office presence.
Weaver Companies
Weaver Consultants Group is part of a larger network of brands known as Weaver Companies. What began as a consulting firm in 1991 grew into four interconnected companies, each focusing on specialized, in-demand components of environmental development, construction, and civil engineering. Weaver Companies brings a collaborative approach to project management that maintains quality and delivers results for multi-faceted project challenges.
The additional Weaver Companies brands include:
Small Firm Culture
Combined with the entirety of Weaver Companies, we have over 600 employees operating across the country in 23 offices. Although Weaver is growing at a sustained rate, we still maintain our small “one-firm firm” culture, where everyone, no matter their seniority, contributes to the company’s success and is encouraged to take the initiative in using their skills. Operating as a one-firm firm means we emphasize company-wide decision-making, cross-brand collaboration, and shared success. A win for one team is a win for all.
Employee-Owned
Weaver Consultants Group is employee-owned. This means that ownership and leadership of our companies always remain in the hands of dedicated team members who are actively involved and care about the organizations they are building. We believe employee ownership creates a sense of belonging and shared responsibility towards our clients and the company’s success.
Employee ownership at Weaver extends beyond senior leadership to include select members from various levels within the organization. Incorporating employees from varying levels into ownership inspires a culture of initiative and drive throughout the organization. This structure encourages long-term sustainable success for Weaver and our employees.
12:1
At Weaver, we believe our employees are the key to our success. We strive to create a positive and engaging work environment where they feel valued and enjoy coming to work. Our “12:1” ratio exemplifies our commitment to maintaining an engaging work environment. 12:1 symbolizes our aspirational engagement goal. Our 12:1 culture represents all those things that make Weaver an inspiring place to work such as collaboration, teamwork, and a clear sense of purpose. 12:1 does have a literal meaning – for every twelve actively engaged employees we have only one actively disengaged. However, our 12:1 culture is more than just a ratio. In short, we want to provide everyone with the opportunity to work within a culture where they feel safe, feel appreciated, and look forward to coming to work every day.
To us, engaged employees feel they have growth opportunities, understand their role expectations, and experience a sense of belonging and recognition both within their team and company-wide. To measure engagement, we conduct an annual anonymous survey for employees to provide feedback directly to leadership. This survey assesses team members in key areas, including clarity of expectations, recognition received, opportunities for development, workplace support, overall job satisfaction, and the chance to use their strengths daily. Feedback from the survey has led to improvements such as new employee and leadership training programs and enhancements to our benefits package.
Participation
We encourage employees to be present, actively deepening others’ commitment to Weaver and the clients we serve. Our focus is on maintaining a culture where every team member feels supported and motivated, ensuring that they look forward to contributing. Our investment in new employee and leadership training programs, coaching, and mentoring opportunities all help create a collaborative environment that sparks passion for our work, clients, and future opportunities.
Senior Employee Involvement
At Weaver, senior employee involvement in day-to-day client work is pivotal to our culture of success. All our senior personnel are actively engaged in technical projects and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, and business partners. Involving senior employees has been shown to strengthen relationships between leadership and team members, improve organizational communication, increase engagement, and encourage development. This hands-on involvement not only sustains an entrepreneurial spirit across all levels but also reinforces our commitment to being trusted advisors for our business partners.
Leadership
Weaver’s cause is building a Company that will be around for generations. We believe that the company’s success relies on attracting talented individuals, investing in them, and developing strong leaders. We employ the use of Leadership Teams throughout the organization. Our employees have opportunities to climb walls, not ladders. Developing our future leaders at every level of the Company is key to our cause of remaining an employee-owned Company that focuses on being great at what we do and building a Company that will be around for generations.
Generosity Program
Our leadership teams are committed to supporting our employees personally and professionally during every step of their journey at Weaver Consultants Group. Our Generosity Program is a prime example of that commitment. The Weaver Generosity Program was created to prioritize what matters to our team by cultivating an environment that encourages impactful contributions and collective success through matching donations, charitable sponsorships, academic scholarships, and extracurricular scholarships.
Employees can benefit from Weaver company programs, including matching gifts, which match donations to charitable causes, and charitable sponsorships for events where employees are directly involved. Weaver Extracurricular Scholarships provide funds for employees’ children to participate in non-school-related programs, while Weaver Academic Scholarships offer financial support for education. By promoting a culture of generosity and support, we aim to build a workplace where every team member feels valued, engaged, and empowered to contribute to our collective success.
