Asbestos Abatement Project Oversight and Facility Air Monitoring

Emergency Asbestos Survey, Design, and Project Management

Client: Association House of Chicago | Location: Chicago, Illinois  

Weaver Consultants Group (WCG) was retained by Association House of Chicago to conduct an emergency asbestos containing material survey. WCG’s Industrial Hygiene team prepared the Illinois Department Public Health (IDPH) variance and design documents associated with the asbestos containing floor tile and mastic disturbance. WCG’s project design identified the extent of clean-up and asbestos abatement activities. The design included the project scope of work, detailed project specifications, and AutoCAD drawings depicting barrier locations, worker decontamination facilities and negative air exhaust locations.

WCG provided project oversight and onsite air monitoring during the abatement activity. Project activities such as containment integrity, work methods utilized, worker PPE, and abatement progress were noted in daily logs. Final clearance samples were collected using aggressive methods and a final IDPH report was prepared.
