Geotechnical Exploration to Support Community Ice Rink Development
Geotechnical Exploration, Foundation/Support Recommendations, Periodic Observation of Soil Conditions and Fill Placement During Construction Client: […]
WCG provided a detailed geotechnical evaluation for a 800,000+ SF distribution center development within a very aggressive timeline. The project, which required drilling of 87 soil borings, had a report deadline that was required to be completed within two months from receipt of the RFP (Request for Proposal). The geotechnical evaluation report was delivered on time and provided multiple foundation support alternatives and pavement recommendations for light and heavy duty pavement sections. Ultimately, the site utilized Controlled Modulus Column ground improvement to support the multi-story building’s heavy foundation loads. Despite challenging field conditions, inclement weather, and complex design requirements, WCG was able to deliver a quality report on an aggressive schedule that provided the client confidence to make a building decision at a complex, multi-dimensional site.
