Weaver Consultants Group provided geotechnical engineering services for the development of a new medical office building. The presence of existing buildings that needed to be demolished (including some with basements) and significant grade changes within the building footprint presented geotechnical challenges. Ultimately, the building was able to be constructed on shallow foundations with targeted foundation area undercutting and careful control over structural fill placement. Collaborative efforts with the in-house Civil Engineering and Environmental teams led to cost efficiencies for the client.
