Mitigation Planning and Permitting Services for a Stream Relocation

Hurricane Creek currently runs between two landfill stockpiles within Arlington Landfill. In order to connect the two stockpiles for a landfill expansion, the stream must be relocated. Weaver Consultants Group (WCG) has been retained to collaborate with the US Army Corps of Engineers to obtain a permit for the stream relocation. As part of the realignment process, stream enhancements will be provided for water quality, wetland improvements, and wetland reforestation. Additionally, the project will include open waterways with rock stabilization at stream directional changes, root wads, filter logs, and native shoreline vegetation to address stream bank erosion and fish habitat.
